2010 - the year of productivity
Hello, there! Lot’s of new things are going on around the neighbourhood of Ad Astra. First of all, a big hooray goes for our drummer, Murphy’s new born baby!!
Secondly, we’re working on another cover song, this time the victim will be Peter Gabriel’s hit song from the 80’s, Sledgehammer. We’ll record it sometime during the spring. We’re also working on the new album, which is hopefully due to come out in autumn. Our concert dates for the spring period are also on their way, keep checking back the “shows” page!

Line-up changes, upcoming video
2009 begin with some changes in the membership of the band. Based on mutual agreement, guitarist Márk Spala and main vocalist Csaba Morvai left due to musical reasons solely. The new 6-string man has been already found, he’s Balázs Specker, an old friend, but we’re still looking for a singer. Fortunately, the band can keep on doing shows as Zoltán Pötörke, vocalist of the band Salvus, is supporting the band and does the main vocals temporalily, till we find a full-time member.
Our first video shot for the song “Waves” is soon to be finished, and the demo version of two new songs will also be put online in a short time. Keep on checking back!;)
new album is out!!!
Good news!:) Finally, our first full length album Crust of Ego has been released by Nail Records The cd can be bought at our shows, in many of the major shops and it can also be ordered at our e-mail address. (adastra_at_index_dot_hu). It costs 6 euro/1500 huf (+ postal charge in case of postal order). If you haven’t done it yet, check out our myspace page, where three songs from the album are available for listening.
We have a few new live dates, too. One of them is a festival on 22nd of March at Avalon club, where we are going to play with such prominent bands as Brainstom and Pagan’s Mind.

Fortunately, we could solve the label problem at least within the borders of our country. Our first album ‘Crust of Ego’ is going to be released in Hungary on 4th February 2008 by Hammer/Nail records. And of course, we are still looking forward to getting in touch with any distributor or label who could promote the record in Europe.
We have also registered a myspace page, where you can listen to 3 songs from our oncoming album. Enjoy it!
The First Album Is Recorded
We’ve finished recording and mastering of our first album. It contains eight songs, including the ones from the promo CD, some rewritten old material and a U2 cover. It is going to be titled “Crust of Ego”. Currently, we we’re looking for a label/distributor and if we succeed in a short time, we hope it can be released before the end of this year. Cover artwork is also under process, it is expected to be ready in a couple of weeks.
New site and promo CD
Hi, there! The new website of Ad Astra has been launched and finally its available in English, as well. You can find every necessary information about the band including bio, mp3, lyrics, etc. If you have any questions or remarks about anything regarding the band or the site, just feel free to contact us through e-mail or write into the guestbook.
Along with the new site, the band has finished working on its first English promotional material called “No Contact”. The promo CD contains 3 songs from our first EP originally released with Hungarian lyrics this spring. The song “Waves” can be downloaded from the Discography page, and the lyrics for each song can be viewed, as well.
